When I first upgraded to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, I could'nt figure out how to take a screenshot of the screen. Some of you might encounter this anomaly so i am posting the method to take screenshot in Ice Cream Sandwich. Unlike gingerbread, you don't have any option of screenshot in the menu that appears on long pressing of the lock key.
To take a screenshot you would not need any third party application but a key combination.
Press the volume down key on your android phone and instantaneously press the lock key. Key them pressed until you hear the shutter sound. The screenshot would be visible for a second and then you can view it your image viewer.
